CRIME OF THE WEEK


Theft of Property
February 1st 2017

Our Crime for this Week occurred on Monday, August 1st 2016 at 8650 Madison Blvd (Wal-Mart) in Madison. According to Madison Police, the victim was shopping at Wal-Mart. After buying her items, she removed her bags from the shopping cart as it was pushed to the foyer. She left her wallet in the top part of the cart. Minutes later, the offender comes in sees the wallet, walks away and then comes back and gets the wallet and walks away.
The offender appears to be a W/M, wearing a gray t shirt, camo shorts and flip flops.


Theft of Property

Our Crime for this Week occurred on Friday, May 31st 2013 at 301 Suite B in Bridge Street Shopping Center (Ulta Cosmetics and Fragrances) here in town. According to Huntsville Police, the offender came into the store and started removing bottles of perfume from the shelves and placed them into a bag that he had brought into the store. He then immediately leaves the store without paying.

Video surveillance shows the offender who appears to be a W/M, wearing tan shorts, red polo shirt and Alabama cap.


Attempt to Pass Counterfeit Currency
Our Crime for this Week occurred on Tuesday, April 30th 2013 at 2212 Whitesburg Drive (CVS Pharmacy) here in town. According to Huntsville Police, the offender entered the store and selected a couple of items. Upon checking out, he presented a fake $100 bill to the cashier. The cashier then lays the bill down to get the manager at which time the offender reaches over the counter to retrieve the counterfeit bill. After the offender realizes the manager has went back and reviewed the tape, the offender flees the store.

The offender appears to be a B/M, approximately 5'8" in height, weighing around 160 lbs, wearing jeans and dark shirt.

Theft of Property

Our Crime for this Week occurred on Friday, January 11th 2013 at 8650 Madison Blvd (Wal-Mart) in Madison. According to Madison Police, the offender entered the business and completed his shopping. Once at the self check-out register, he began to bag hundreds of dollars worth of items without paying for them. After he proceeded through all points of check-out, he was confronted by store security where he left the merchandise and fled from the store.

The offender appears to be a B/M, around 5'10", weighing around 160 lbs. He was wearing jeans, white tshirt, Raiders jacket and ball cap.


Criminal Mischief
Our Crime for this Week occurred between Wednesday, December 5th 2012 and Friday, December 7th at 1027 Shelton Road (Shelton Park) in Madison. According to Madison Police, the offender(s) spray painted vulgar language along with known gang symbols/lettering throughout the park on several pieces of park equipment.

Fraudulent Use of a Debit Card
Our Crime for this Week occurred on Wednesday, July 11th 2012 at 220 Wynn Drive (Redstone Federal Credit Union) here in town. Earlier in the day, the victim had deposited his paycheck at the credit union while going through the drive thru and unbeknownst to him, his passenger, in the drivers seat was watching him use his card. Shortly thereafter, his card was stolen from the dash of the car and his card was used at several locations taking money from his account.

He advised his passenger was known only by the street name of “Chicago”. He appears to be a B/M, around 6’ in height and weighing around 175. Video surveillance shows him using the stolen card.


Arson

Our Crime for this week occurred on Saturday, February 4th 2012 at 147 Allred Road in Hazel Green. On this date, a fire which investigators believe was intentionally set, burned a shed to the ground. A second fire appeared to be set at the same location on February 13th 2012 and it caused heavy damage to a detached garage.


Murder
Our Crime for this week occurred during the hours of Thursday, July 22nd 2010 around 7 p.m., through Friday morning, July 23rd around 7 a.m. According to Huntsville Police, the victim, Dr. Herbert Gray was found dead by an employee coming into work that morning just past 8 a.m. at 102 Lowry St. (Graytronix). The victims vehicle was later located in another part of town.
